Why is it that Boomers love their phone so much? When it came to screen time, I always thought the Millennials had dibs on the most screen time usage. You know our kids! My kids and their friends with their cell phones, sneaking them at the dinner table, in front of the TV, texting each other while they are right next to each other on the couch, in their rooms, in the car! I always talked about the younger generation spending so much time on their phones. But what about Boomers? Are they using their phones more these days? Are they using them more than the younger generations?

What is the Truth?
Smartphones allow us to stay in touch with family and friends around the globe! Sharing pictures on social media or using Skype or Facetime to see each other in person over the phone helps us to keep in touch. You get to see things as they happen because of your cell phone!
I received a study today showing exactly where Boomers are in the mix and it was a little surprising to me! But is it really? Both generations show similarities in the amounts of time they spend on their phones.

How Boomers and Millennials spend their time on their Smartphones varies!
Facebook and Instagram were the two top apps used similarly by both Millennials and Boomers. Where this changed was texting versus email. Boomers love their email and messenger and the younger generation still loves texting.

My husband also looked into checking his employer plan and Verizon gave him credit as a retiree. This was a savings also.
Great! Thanks for letting me know Annie!
I love the fact you have decided to leave the corporate world at 50 and start living. Gary and I are at the point of trying to figure out how to do that, Wouldn’t mind some tips.
We bought rentals and did everything we could to pay them off quickly. I was no longer at the mercy of a job once they were. There was plenty of income when you are debt free. We also downsized as soon as the kids moved out.
What an interesting statistics! I didn’t realize that Boomers and Millennials almost have the usage of their phones. You’re correct having a great phone package is important to save money. Great article!
I was a little surprised myself! Even though I am online quite a bit my phone is not my favorite. Only because it is too small and typing is difficult. I thought it would be the same for most people my age!
Love the survey. So interesting to see how Boomers use yheir phones.
Thank you Sandi!
WOW, very interesting statistics! I must admit even though I use my phone for a lot of things I really don’t use it as much as some of my older friends do! Especially when it come to utilizing apps.
I would love to learn more about my phone. I am sure I am unaware of many features!
Phone time surprised me too. We have Verizon but we pay more than $80. Will need to look into this, Thanks.
Do! I hope you qualify!
I was just talking about some of these stats with my grandparents the other day! Verizon is such a great service and it’s great to know they have this special for 55plus!
It is a pretty nice discount for such a great service!
These statistics are surprising! I thought for sure millennials were on their phones a lot more than boomers. These are all great tips!
Thanks, Cynthia!
I love my phone so much. It is like a little buddy and extra brain that I have with me all the time. I always know that I can be entertained, improve my safety and be more informed if I have my buddy with me.
Me too! My husband just got his first smartphone 6 months ago and LOVES it! He refused to give up his construction phone.
We love our Verizon service!! Not surprised to see Boomers use their phones just as much.
Me either. I set limits for myself like when I am eating with someone. But everyone is on their phones.
