Luxury Restaurants
In order for you to enjoy a complete luxury vacation, why not booking a table at one of the finest and most renowned restaurant of the city? You will have plenty of choice, all with talented chefs.

DiverXO
The first restaurant we suggest you is called DiverXO. It is the only restaurant in the city which has 3 stars at the Michelin Guide.
In a very unexpected and modern atmosphere, you will have the chance to try amazing culinary products, it is a truly incredible experience for your senses. Not to miss this place, book a table in advance.
Because it is one of the greatest restaurants in the capital city, it is also the most expensive one, with only one menu available at 250€, but it is worth it!
La Terraza del Casino
The chef Paco Roncera is in charge of this 2-star restaurant. They do offer traditional dishes in an unexpected way because he aims to revisit Spanish classics.
And if you are a wine lover, you will be in heaven with its more than 900 choices kept in the cellar. You will have the choice between different menus available at different prices.
CEBO
Located in the 5-star luxury hotel Urban, this restaurant is a gastronomic one awarded by 2 stars from the Michelin Guide. The chef Aurelio Morales is a real artist which creates a perfect balance between technical dishes and tasty flavours with local and fresh products.
The cuisine is mostly inspired by Spanish and especially Catalan or Madrilenian specialties. The menu is designed so that you only know the main ingredient to create a complete surprise when served. The service is managed by the famous Francisco Paton, a talented maitre d’hotel.
What do to in Madrid?
The Retiro Park
The Retiro Park is one of the vestiges of the former secondary residence of Spain’s kings, called the Palacio del Buen Retiro and which was destructed because of its poor materials and the Napoleonic battles who took place in the city in the early 19th century.
Madrid inhabitants like to go for a walk under the sun, a running session, or even to picnic in the park. But as Madrid is a city full of history, this place is also designed to be a cultural location. You will be able to find several museums, one is the extension of the famous Prado Museum or palaces which welcome temporary exhibitions from the Reina Sofia Museum.
If you come to the city to visit and enrich yourself, you won’t be disappointed as three of the major museums are located on the Paseo del Arte, perfect to visit one after another.
If you are looking to learn a bit more about Spanish history, I would better advise you to book a private guided tour, it would be easier for you to truly understand every painting! (https://madrid-discovery.com/)
Eat Traditional Food at the San Miguel Market
The San Miguel Market in an authentic place located in the heart of the capital city and not far from the Plaza Mayor. For all the food lovers but also beer and wine ones, you will find something which perfectly fits your tastes.

You will encounter fresh and quality products used to create traditional tapas or even ice cream. Most of the products are made by renowned chef awarded by the Guide Michelin for a luxury and typical Spanish experience it is the place to go for!
A Drink at the RIU Rooftop
Another incredible experience is drinking a crafted cocktail on top of the RIU Hotel. You will benefit from a breathtaking view of the city and its surroundings on the 27th floor of the hotel with a bar and comfy chairs to a sit under the sun.
Not far from the central avenue Gran Via, this 4-star hotel is a renowned place in the city, if you want to book your accommodation here you will benefit from services such as a fitness center, meeting rooms and a car parking.
Guests will also have exclusive access to the swimming pool on the rooftop. Another little bonus is the glass walkway on top of the hotel allowing you to take your best photos and see the bustling city right under your feet.
The Debod Temple
The Debod Temple, initially built in Egypt, was gifted to Spain in 1968 in order to keep it safe. In fact, several temples in the country were in danger because of the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

The temple was then transferred to Madrid in order to be restored and some parts were reconstructed. It is now located in the West Park of the city near the Plaza de Espana. It is also a great place to watch the sunset!

Madrid is on my “must see” travel list! Looks like a beautiful city.
Thanks Cindy!
Great post on an amazing adventure!! I’ve never been to Madrid, but hope to travel there one day – after I retire, I’m sure.
You never know! Once we are able to travel again I am sure there will be some great deals there.
Madrid is on my list. Soooo many nice places to stay! Thanks for the resource!
Thank you for reading Marianne!
This is a great guide to a luxury experience. We have been to Barcelona but not Madrid yet.
Thanks Cindy!
My daughter LOVED Madrid! I’d love to have this experience!
Kendra, I hope you get to go soon! It looks amazing.
Just beautiful (and makes it so tempting to want to retire right now, lol)!
I hear you! We love being able to pick up whenever we want.
What a wonderful way to enjoy this area! Amazingly beautiful.
Thank you Suzan!
My son and his wife met in Madrid so that was their choice for honeymoon. I’ve never been to Spain but would love to see both Barcelona and Madrid.
Wow! That is so cool. I agree … Spain in general is a great destination.
We love Spain and hopefully will get to Madrid next year. Thanks for all the tips.
Awesome! I can’t wait to hear about your trip.
Wow! I hadn’t thought about going to Madrid before but your pictures are gorgeous! I’ll have to include it in my list of places to get to!
Awesome! I hope you get to Madrid soon.
That looks like an amazing trip!! I have not gotten to Spain list, but hopefully one of these days!!
Me too! Spain and Portugal are high on my list.
Madrid looks absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Barbara. I agree Madrid is special.
This is great info because Spain is at the top of my list to visit! We’ve even considered moving there! I pinned this to reference later!
Wow! Spain is awesome. I hope you get there soon.
I was supposed to be in Madrid in April and the trip was cancelled. This gives me something to look forward to once our trip is rescheduled.
Oh good Bonnie. I hope you get there soon.
I’ve been to Madrid, but only on day trips. I was stationed in Rota, Spain for three years in the early to mid 90s. Rota was our favorite duty station of all!
I bet! What a great place to land.
Great options if I ever get to Madrid.
Thanks Sabrina!
I would love to visit Madrid, great guide.
Thanks Leeandra!
Luxury travel is my favorite way to go.. I save until I can go that way! Madrid is one place I really would love to visit!
There is so much history in Madrid.
What a gorgeous city. Oh my goodness – the buildings are beautiful. I think the early picture of the Glass Palace is my favorite though. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for reading, Beth!
Oh, wow. I’ve never done anything in luxury, but these restaurants sound amazing!
I agree. I can’t wait to check out Madrid.
My daughter was supposed to go to Madrid after her cruise ship docked in Barcelona on March 13th. But with the coronavirus spiking, she just came home to quarantine. The good news is that now I have a reason to go there with her!
Perfect! Hopefully, this will be over soon and we can get to it.
Wonderful “armchair traveling” while we wait to get back out of the house again! 🙂
Agreed! I will take what I can get.
I would love to have a drink on top of the RIU hotel. When I was at Mayo a couple months ago, I had champagne on the roof of our hotel, and it was so cool even though it was only 3 stories and we sat on metal chairs. I can’t imagine 27 stories with cushy chairs — in Madrid!
That would be awesome. I agree rooftop is the best!
This brings back so many memories for me. I spent an academic year just outside of Madrid and spent many a weekend day exploring the city. I did not have the “luxury” experience, though, being a student! I would love to go back and see the city now 20+ years later.
Thanks, Kristin.
Awesome pictures! Would love to go to Madrid, or Spain in general, someday.
Thanks Alexis! Me too. Hopefully we will be able to get to Madrid soon.
Madrid looks amazing and I hope to get there one day! So much beauty, how do you choose where to stay or where to eat? Everything looks perfect, I guess you can’t go wrong!
I agree! It definitely offers great options.
We just went to Madrid last year! It’s so interesting to see the different ways to experience a place. We choose to Airbnb and wander. You hit several places we missed!
Yes, I enjoy that too, wandering, but I always miss stuff.
My sister has visited there and she loved it. I look forward to visiting.
Me too! Madrid is full of valuable history!
This looks like it would be a great trip! Spain is #1 on my husband’s bucket list.
I don’t blame him! Madrid is awesome!
I’d LOVE to visit Madrid! It looks so beautiful. These are great suggestions.
Thanks Cindy!
We went to Barcelona recently but Madrid looks fabulous!
Awesome! Barcelona is on the list too!
Madrid looks like a beautiful place to visit. We’ve been to Spain, but spent most of our time in Malaga. So we will have to make a trip back to visit Madrid.
Awesome, I can’t wait to hear about your experience in Madrid, Sara!
We are heading to Madrid next summer so this is a perfect list to start researching from! I’m excited to check out the hotels listed.
Have a great time in Madrid!
Such a great list, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Lucy!
Madrid looks beautiful!
I agree!
I am going to pin this because I will be going to Spain at some point! This is great information!
Awesome, Lisa! Enjoy your time in Madrid!
Madrid is a really cool city to explore. It’s been a few years since I’ve been so I think I need to go back soon.
Good news! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Madrid looks like a wonderful place to visit. I’d love to go. The luxury resort sounds great, but I’ve never stayed “luxury” anywhere before except Disney, and they aren’t truly luxury resorts. I’d love to try the food at the San Miguel Market. This would be an awesome place to explore.
I agree! The market looks awesome!
I visited Madrid for the first time last year…these all look like amazing places to stay when I return.
Thank you KMF!
Sounds amazing! Although I love luxury experiences, my wallet doesn’t always agree. We often have one really delicious meal or experience on a trip and then let the rest be less extravagent.
We do the same thing and only splurge once in a while.
A luxury trip to Madrid sounds amazing – and we love hearing about exquisite food choices too! Although we can’t go right now, it’s great to hear about our options when it’s safe to travel again. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Alison!
Thanks for this. We’re still hoping we get to go on our trip this summer. Great ideas…my husband loves good/expensive food.
Me too! If I am going to eat out I want it to be different!
