The Retiro Park is one of the vestiges of the former secondary residence of Spain’s kings, called the Palacio del Buen Retiro and which was destructed because of its poor materials and the Napoleonic battles who took place in the city in the early 19th century.
Madrid inhabitants like to go for a walk under the sun, a running session, or even to picnic in the park.
